this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Does McCarthy survive this loss? JJ may jump in and takeover the SP sweepstakes. This guy knows he has the team, but coaching is a problem. Dak is not a top QB in this league, but good enough....

Re: McCarthy
I was thinking the same. McCarthy was already on a short leash.
Problem is that Jones is a control freak and has to be the smartest guy in the board room. That being said, SP is a strong coaching personality (like Jimmy Johnson) and he won't put up with his BS for very long. Then again... throw enough money at him and I'm sure SP can be influenced to take the job. |

Re: McCarthy
I didn't think McCarthy would have been going anywhere with the season that they had, but that win last week should have locked his return in for certain. Win you look at their numbers McCarthy is every bit as good a coach as is Payton. He's has just as much success or more across the board. Besides, the Jones' are too enamored with their draft picks. I can't imagine them handing over a batch of them for what is basically a parallel move at head coach.

Come to think of it, not so dissimilar to Tony Romo either. | |
