But ESPN’s Todd McShay has a worrisome suggestion. One of the players who could leave this offseason is defensive end Marcus Davenport, who has all the ability in the world but struggled to stay on the field through five years with the Saints due to injuries and inconsistent play. He has the Saints picking a prospect with many of the same qualities that filled Davenport’s scouting report coming out of college: Georgia Tech defensive end Keion White.

No more projects like him.

He was already too expensive with the two number ones.

And way too many injury concerns (White) in college.

Hard pass.

Re: Mock Drafts 2023

Hau'oli Kikaha and Zack Baun had bunch of sacks in college as well. And while both are/were LBs - they were supposed to bring pass rush along with Davenport and Turner.

It doesn't too good on the scouts' evaluations.

Those two predate Jeff Ireland, if my memory serves me right.

Kikaha was taken in the 2015 draft and Ireland had joined the Saints in January of 2015, Baun was taken in the 2020 draft.

IMO Kikaha was a reach in the 2nd & Baun has never been utilized to his strengths in the Saint's defensive philosophy.

Give the guy a legit chance to rush @ OLB. Forcing him --> square peg into a round hole. He is more of a 3-4 defensive "fit".

But yeah, scouting has to be spot-on in 2023.
