Mock Drafts 2023

Yes, first one of the season is already out. And it even includes picks gotten from a SP trade.

Not sure on who they want for the number 1 pick. But we pick up QB Hooker. Is that even realistic, I wonder?

What's your take on Hooker ?

I didn't realize he was a 6th year senior at Tennessee/Va Tech back (redshirt) up? Is he worthwhile to stash for a year, learn the system, then take over as your starter (long term)?

The last scouting report I read had him as Day 2 (mid rounder) selection.

Idk much about the QB class in this draft. But if we get a 1st rounder for SP, we better get a solid QB to come in and be the future. As far as getting a RB in round 1…idk man. Seems like a reach with that pick. I like the safety pick though.

I love Hendon Hooker. He's 6'4", 220 lbs. Good speed. Great arm strength. Accurate passer. He went from 61% to 65% to 68% to 70% completions each year. 2021 he had 31 passing TDs and 3 picks. He was on the way to usurping that until the injury. The kid is a diamond in through if I've ever seen one.

Need to study his reading ability before answering.

I'd take him. Mostly 3 seconds and the ball is gone. Some 4 and 5 seconds looks, but not many. Seems accurate too.

Good height and weight too.

He has a quick release too, That's what you want.

We could take a flyer in the late rounds on Stetson Bennett.

The next Purdy?

We're not really sure yet what the current Purdy is. He has an excellent defense, one of the better offensive lines in the league, three matchup nightmares on offense (Kittle, Samuel, and McCaffrey), and arguably the best FB in the league (Juszczyk). He may very well be something special, or he may just be Gardner Minshew with all of the right tools around him.
