Good one. I might have to go back and freshen up on my third grade comebacks. Anyway, Back to Football, I could see the Saints drafting a complimentary running back this year and his replacement next year when the Cap hit is lower.

Probably the product of misery within their own lives or something of the sort.

Many fans are just so disappointed with the coaching last year that led us to a 7-10 record when Dennis Allen was handed a playoff caliber team. I look forward to the combine and draft when expectations will again be high. Personally, I am going to start looking for the silver lining as of today.

But the front office is still open for criticism and I'm still disappointed in Dennis Allen and the front office for trying to continue with Sean Payton's system when he is not here to run it. The front office is still running the team like Drew Brees and Sean Payton were here and trying to win now while moving all money forward to the future where it will come due on aging unproductive players at the end of their contract.

A healthy percentage of that "playoff caliber" roster was on the sideline in knee braces and walking boots. Not to mention nursing a half a dozen fractures within the vertebrae.

Agreed.

I'm sick of this "push it down the road" mentality that our front office has when it comes to the salaries of players.

I don’t mind the contract restructuring. My only gripe is the coaching staff and continuing to try and run Payton’s scheme with no Payton.

How do they handle the soccer leagues and so on?

You and Guido are diluting the word "hate". Most of us are irrationally emotional about this team and become frustrated when things don't come up roses.
Keep in mind, the men that play football for the New Orleans Saints have no idea who we are nor do they care.

For you and others it probably isn't personal. For a few it is clearly personal. "Hatred" is a very accurate description of what they routinely display.

There is no salary cap in most professional soccer leagues around the world so the accounting for salaries doesn't require maximizing the value against the rising cap. The MLS does have a salary cap, but they do not have the ever expanding revenues of the NFL so the cap growth is minimal. Yet, it does appear to increase every year, but not by enough to leverage the present versus future value as you can in the NFL. Their 2023 cap is also only around $5.2 million "with an additional $1.9 million available in General Allocation Money (GAM) and $2.7 million in Targeted Allocation Money (TAM). There are also both minimum and maximum wages for individual players set annually by the league."
