It seems like it always take 3/4th of the season for any of his defenses to start to gel. That 2012 defense never gelled. That defense gave up the most yards in NFL history and that was all on Spagnoulo.![]()
On the other hand, the offense under Carmichael that same season was tremendous being ranked 2nd in total yards and 3rd in total points. |

That's what I've always heard. Not every player can fit that scheme, but can excel if placed into something that maximizes their strengths.

Lots of woulda coulda shouldas with SP playoffs opportunities., not the least of which was indeed bad personnel on defense under Spags. Better knowledge of the rule book would've handled two of those opportunities (both miracle endings), and the 2011 Greg Williams defense all of sudden didn't care about covering Vernon Davis. That 2011 team was arguably the Saints' most talented team ever.
At least the Saints did make the playoffs a few times and won one Tiffany ! | |

Look... Leave SP alone. It's not his fault the defense with Spags was so bad.
At least that's what he told me when he used to come by the counter at Whole Foods. |

The only guy Payton ever reall stacked the D was for Allen. Spags would have done a fine job if Payton was smart about a D back then. Payton cost us Superbowls. Won 1 with Brees behind C in his prime. Let that sink in.
