You need to get over it and recognize the concrete reality that its a common device in contemporary language that sports fans feel a sense of ownership of the team they follow and use possessive language. You can find a million examples of fans using such language if you google NFL "Who's your team?".
For example, here is the NFL suggesting fans refer to it as their team. And its their team, they can talk about who their team signed and who their team paid and whether their team is making the right decisions and will win. |

The Chiefs are a good team because they did smart things. They did not overpay a receiver with character issues. They got rid of a RB with character issues. When their old QB was getting near the end they drafted a replacement without completely mortgaging the future. They pay elite money when they have elite talent with elite character. They don't overextend themselves with the salary cap and thus when a player is aging, injury prone, or having character issues, or more than one of the above, they are able to move on, because they don't depend on being able to restructure every contract every year to stay under the cap. They can move on from players like Hunt, Hill, Mathieu, Clark, etc and leave flexibility to add the best value players with the best character and health while acquiring draft picks when the opportunities are right to stay young. |

Believe it or not there lot of fans who are passionate about "their teams"!

However, (this part isn't addressing you, Rugs) anything paid to front office or coaches matters not to me at all. That's purely between the owner and them. Their pay shouldn't and doesn't have any relevance whatsoever to fans (or fanatics) like me or whomever. |

Buying tickets to games put's money in the owners pockets. Granted just walking around money but technically all of those people in the stands constitute "WE" You as the "OWNER", YOUR SAINTS AS YOU ARE SO FOND OF STATING should know that!!

That player salary portion of that ticket money I fork over is of interest to me. Those are revenues that are mandated per the CBA to be paid out to my players. However, I don't care what is paid to employ coaches or front office personnel. But, yes, who mans those positions is relevant. That I have never denied.
