The more film I watch on Edwards the more excited I am about having him in the rotation. He's solid and I expect him to contribute immediately. Callaway did what he could for the Saints when they needed him to be their top receiver. Unfortunately, he blossomed early and there wasn't much fruit on the tree. He was a good investment for the cost(UDFA). Now go get Tre' Quan's replacement! Even though he's a great blocker he hasn't been able to produce on the field and is taking a valuable roster spot.

Bump ...

No separation, not helping his QB (int on game 1) silly penalties on him.

Bryan's probably toast in New Orleans & possibly his career.

Edwards was only given consideration due to his past work with Carr. It obviously is not enough and also a testament to why he was available at all.

Let the two rookies contribute instead, Shaq Davis and AT Perry.

I Agree Smash has showed little to merit even a practice squad spot plenty of young talent deserving of the opportunity at this point.

Not having a sighting of TQS since training cam started, other players traveled to Cali with the team to continue rehab with team and yet no TQS sighting.

Might this be the end of TQS? Might he be out right released or placed sign to the practice squad.

Maybe CSP will take him and Grupe.

My top four :

MT, Olave, Shaheed & AT Perry.

After that, it's anyone's guess.

I kinda like what I see from Bowden Jr. He's getting separation and shown ability on special teams (KR/WR/PR).

Roster cuts are coming ...

AT Perry has definitely locked up the number four receiver spot. 3Q not making the trip doesn't have good optics after missing so much time in camp. Shaq looks promising and so does Bowden.

Do we keep five or six receivers? I'm thinking that we will only keep five because we have to find three roster spots for Haener, Taysom and an extra RB. There are only 53 roster spots after all. We might have to keep six receivers though, because we don't know how long Thomas will be available and we need another big bodied possession receiver just in case.

As far back as I checked we always carried at least six WR's.

Re: Saints sign Free Agent WR Bryan Edwards

I could see the Saints keeping five receivers and stashing the other young guns on the PS to bring them up if we need them. Shaq would be the hardest to sneak on the PS and might be poached.

Derek Carr likes his TE's and we will wind up cutting good players whether we keep three or four TE's for Carr's safety valve and security blanket. Krull would probably be the one who makes it through the waiver wire. Of course, this all depends on how Jimmy Graham's health plays out and his availability.

Well, Bryan Edwards got that tap (cut) today.

Don’t think anyone here is surprised.

Saints tried 🤷🏼.
