Who knows? AT Perry could develop an early connection with Carr since Thomas' snaps will be limited. If Perry learns to "slow down" the catch and look it in before he turns upfield then we may have a nice new weapon. Let's see what the WR coach can do with him.

Re: Saints Pick 6.18 - WR A.T. Perry
Howdy fellas, been a long time since I’ve been around these boards! Still recognize a lot of handles!
Anyways, just wanted to drop in and say that AT Perry is a baller and really hope he makes it big with our Saints. I’m a Wake Forest die hard and have watched every single one of AT’s games. He was a late bloomer, really came on in camp in 2020 but was further down the depth chart that year. He busted out in 2021 and became one of, if not the most, productive receiver in school history. He’s got good speed, long arms, big hands, and he can pretty much do it all on the field. The drops were never a huge issue at Wake, although he did have them from time to time. The thing, IMHO, that separates him from a lot of other players is his body control. He’s a long, lean guy that can contort his body in ways you wouldn’t expect for a man his size to get in position to catch the ball. The best example I can remember is his walk-off OT touchdown grab at Syracuse two years ago: Anyways, I know he’s got a long ways to go, but this guy has so much raw talent and is still developing. Hopefully our staff can bring out the best in him because he was one of the most fun college players to watch for me in a long time. |
