I think anyone in their right mind would agree that Jeff Ireland knows a tad bit more about player evaluation than anyone here on this forum. And by a good margin at that.

Whats he going to say

I traded away the

Eagles receive: No. 18 2022, 3rd in 2022, 7th 2022,
Saints’ 1st 2023(Darnell Wright NFL Rookie team OT)
Saints’ 2nd-round 2024

Saints receive: No. 16 in 2022, No. 19 in 2022, 6th-round pick in 2022

And then traded a a 3rd and 4th to move up 5 spaces

So he's traded away
10th pick,18th R2/18th,3rd,3rd,4th,7th

For Olave and LT that can't get a start or is good enough to not get his QB killed after two season and a player thats now on the Broncos practice squad

Genius job by the front office, giving away all that draft capital for one WR and a 2nd string offensive linemen and with no cap wiggle room without overextending players again and being 80ml over in 2024 and already 40ml over in 2025.

He is too talented not to make it sounds far better than we threw all the draft capital on black and then remembered we are at the poker table. They are all still living on the 2017 draft picks.

Better follow Detroit’s blueprint in regards to the draft.

Copy cat league.

They have KEY PLAYERS (St. Brown, Hutchinson, Williams, Gibbs) balling on rookie contracts.

Saints MUST hit on their 2024 draft picks, otherwise you’ll end up in mediocre land, 8-9, 9-8 & scoreboard watching in week 17 every year.

The Rams Jeff Fishers years as i like to view it
7-8
7-9
6-10
7-9
4-9

Then they fired him and had 4 winning season, two superbowl apperances and 1 win

Demario and Shaheed are the other two.

Whoever is making the first round selection needs to be let go this offseason. Bump up the guys who find all the talent late in the draft and UDFA's. Why do we whiff so dang often when we're selecting offensive and defensive linemen?

I think we're probably at the NFL average in early round selections.

Whats disturbing is the amount of former Saints playing well elsewhere. We're not keeping our good ones.

Right on point, Danno. You can go to any fan forum across the league and the same questions are always being asked about drafting. As has been said many, many times before, regardless of what anyone says or thinks, the NFL draft is at best an inexact science.

Saints need to find a new punter. IMO Saints gave up on my guy Blake G way too quickly.

He had better stats than the Austrialian in 2023.

Definitely need to bring in more guys to compete for the starting job in 2024. Inconsistencies & shanks really put your defense in bad spots.
