Have no idea what JPP has left but at this point, why not.

Never hurts to kick the tires... I see someone else picking him up off of our pratice squad before he can get in the line up tho.

Yep.

I was hoping for legit DE before the trade deadline. Saints have one of the worst pass rush win rates of any NFL team. Cam isn't getting any younger and Granderson needs help.

I'm starting to think that Payton Turner won't return at all this season.

Not unless he agrees to the move. Players on the practice squad are pseudo free agents. Just like regular free agents they can choose what they want to accept or ignore. But, they can't be signed to another practice squad and only to an active roster. The deal he signed might have an agreement in principle that he is going to be elevated to the 53 man roster once they clear a spot.
