https://theathletic.com/4550260/2023...mahomes/?amp=1 I guess the current SB champs are making a big mistake! I’m pretty sure every other NFL tteam is having them now too, so no… teams aren’t skipping them out of health concerns. Obviously staying healthy is needed. But guys get hurt lifting weights. They get hurt at home doing daily activities too. Should they bubble wrap themselves until the first game of the season? The idea that teams DON’t get better by practicing is nonsense and you know it even if you won’t admit it. I guess all the extra work Brees put in had nothing to do with his success, huh? Again, you are arguing just to argue now. |

Re: 2023 Saints OTA Thread
Depending on which team/organization you ask, you'll get a different opinion on how they view OTA's.
Some coaches view it as a way to identify and EVALUATE young talent. Not specifically starters but DEPTH. The good teams (Dallas, Philly, Niners, Vikings) are after QUALITY depth. Not just guys. So when training camp rolls around, they already have a good idea of who they'll assemble on the roster. Bill B canceled his final pair of OTA's last season as a reward for having a strong off-season. When training camp starts, then it gets real. I'm looking forward to the joint training camps with the Saints/Chargers later this summer. June is almost here |

Re: 2023 Saints OTA Thread
Speaking of OTA's, the Patriots and Belichick just lost two of their sessions.
“An observer from the NFL Players Association believed that one of the optional early offseason meetings was a violation, because the 15-minute meeting in question (a special-teams session) was made visible on the internal schedule,” Florio wrote, continuing, “in the opinion of the NFLPA, placing the meeting on the formal schedule converted it from ‘optional’ to ‘mandatory.'” The NFL CBA includes rigid guidelines about how often and for how long players can be required to be in the team facility during the offseason program. There are also limits on how much time players can spend with coaches in certain settings. It sounds like this meeting, and the way it was scheduled, may have encroached on those guidelines. |
