But I'm sure that his being out there for practice was really, really important.

If it wasn’t worthwhile they wouldn’t be doing it. Now, rather than they lose him in game 1 of the season, they have time to work around his injury.

An argument could be made that if a player is injured in the manner just described in Baltimore, maybe his state of being in football shape is not what it needs to be. In the old days, training camps were used to get in shape. Not so today as it is a 24/7 business in terms of keeping your body ready to go.

And then we'll just yet another injury riddled season like the last few that we've had. Unlike you, who just hopes that players can remain healthy, I would rather have the team plan for it.

I do want to make it clear that young players that are going to be depth for the team do need all the reps they can get. If they don't get better, they won't be on the 53 anyway. I'm talking about veteran starters with long careers and older bodies. Rest will do them more good than reps. Give those reps to the UFDAs and rookies so they can get up to speed. Guys like Ram, Peat, Ruiz, Cam, Granderson, Davis, even MT13 really have nothing to prove at this point. The only thing these guys need to be doing is getting ready for training camp.

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.
