We usually carry six WR's on the 53 man roster. What three make the squad behind Thomas, Olave, and Shaheem?

Does 3Q deserve a spot if he hasn't been able to shine and step up in the absence of competition? Wasn't last year his opportunity to break through? And based on his track record, are we not better off giving way to more motivated younger hungrier cheaper hands, especially if he's now vying for a spot at WR4-6? He feels like a slightly better version of Andy Tanner, except that he's hung around on the roster due to circumstances in the WR room.

Tre'Quan is clearly not a frontline WR, but every roster in the NFL has players that must fill a role. And until we find a player that can fill that role as well as Smith, then we'll likely still have him filling that role. If he makes the squad again it's solely because he is more motivated and talented at filling that role.

In the first video above they explain the role that Tre'Quan has played on the roster and what would be needed to be replaced if someone does indeed beat him out. He can't do what Thomas, Olave, and Shaheed can do. That is for certain, but none of them can do what he can do, either.

I think Smith makes the team, as for the other 1 or 2 spots it's a tough call. Probably need to think about another veteran for injury insurance, want to keep a prospect for further development, and likely will need a new kick returner if Shaheed is going to be used more in the offense, just a ton of different directions the Saints can go with the bottom of the WR depth chart.

Does Washington replace 3Q at WR4? He's been more productive so far. That means WR5 or WR6 for 3Q. Camp awaits to see if he's worth his compensation.

Well it could be Brian Edwards. I’m really intrigued with AT Perry as well. It’s possible he has the goods to take that spot
SmashMouth and Rugby Saint II like this.

Exactly... and precisely why 3Q is on a very thin bubble.

Washington more productive than Tre'Quan? You sure about that, Smash? Both came into the league in 2018. Both have been in the league for five full seasons.

Player 1: 114 catches, 1629 yards, 52.1% catch rate, 11 TD's

Player 2: 131 catches, 1764 yards, 66.8% catch rate, 18 TD's

By the way, Washington is player 1 and Tre'Quan is player 2.

I'm not lobbying for Tre'Quan to make the team, but he's not as horrible as some people think.
