Whew. Not a great way to start my day. I would argue that the Johnathan Sullivan pick was worse than the Ricky Williams pick, though.

Indeed. Not only is it too easy if a shot, but Ricky finished his career the 5th all time leading rusher for the team up to that point. At least he produced some. IDK why but the Baptiste pick always stuck in my craw. A second round pick on a guy with 1 career NFL tackle.

Throughout the entire history of the draft there have always been a fair share of total busts and there will always be the occasional bust, regardless of what round or what franchise is involved. It is the nature of the beast. I suppose that's why I have never understood the obsession with the related draft capital of any player that is drafted. The NFL draft has always been and will always be an inexact science. I'm not saying there is no skill involved, but even the very best strike out from time to time.

Ricky Williams worst draft pick? I mean seriously, nothing can be worse than using a 1st round, 11th overall pick on Russell Erxleben...

Ricky did produce and so did Erxleben. While I agree spending a number 1 for a kicker is not advisable, the Raiders did OK with their #1 draft pick special teamer.

Sully has to be the worst since he cost us two number 1s.

I am glad we have Jeff Ireland now. Hope he never leaves us.

OK, I have to ask, what did Erxleben do? He was a failed kicker and a very below average punter?

He had a cool name. Not as cool as Guido Merkens, of course, but still cool.

Agreed not worthy of a Number 1 pick ... but he was not a Jonathan Sullivan. He'd be an UDFA today.

One of many Payton head scratchers.

He was so enamoured by the Seahawks Defense that shut us down and went onto win the SB, that he genuinely thought SJB was the next Richard Sherman.
