Re: Trade kamara
Given the looming suspension, I'm sure it's a thought someone in Saints management has had. But, that same looming suspension kills his trade value.
Keep him on the roster... for now. |

Re: Trade kamara
I don't see any real trade value for him. He hasn't been particularly great the past couple seasons and we all know about the likely suspension. To me, what is going to be interesting is to see how a suspension impacts the Saints salary cap, meaning do the Saints get to recoup any of it and/or do the Saints have the option to void the contract if a prison sentence occurs?

Re: Trade kamara
I don’t think he is tradeable. His dead money cap hits for 2023-25 are 24+ mill, 16 +mill and 8+ mill. This year alone his cap hit goes from 8 million to 24 million if he’s traded. I don’t think the team has that kind of cap space left.

Re: Trade kamara
I have a feeling the team isn't interested in trading him right now. I also believe they have a pretty good idea of the probable outcome of his case given that they restructured his contract making it tougher to move him as Boston pointed out. There are two charges against the four defendants. One, a felony stating serious physical damage to the orbital bone, and the other, a misdemeanor, conspiracy to commit battery. The felony charge is extremely unlikely to stick for him according to several commentaries I have read due to it being his "friends" that did the damage to the head. I've also read that it is highly unlikely that the misdemeanor, if proven, would result in any jail time due to his clean record.
I know some here have mentioned Kamara's supposed regression over the past couple of years, but how much does that have to do with the overall lack of offensive production over that same period. The offensive line has been decimated each of the past two years. QB play has also been, let's say, subpar. It is expected that his production would have been down. Truly, the only reasons to legitimately consider trading Kamara are the very reasons that makes him a poor candidate for trade ... as someone else here pointed out, as well. |

Re: Trade kamara
I'm sure the front offfice has been on the phone with interested teams already. In all honesty, I don't wee any reason why not see what we can get for him.
We currently have depth at RB and as the saying goes, "You fix your roof when it's sunny, not when it's raining." |

Re: Trade kamara
Honestly, if no team showed interest in trading for Dalvin Cook why would one suddenly show interest in trading for Alvin Kamara? Serious question here.
