Its positive that he is back on the field. But anything serious is relative. I think many seizure conditions are serious but may only produce a seizure every year or more, especially if medication can help control them. Maybe he will have another seizure like this randomly at some moment in the next year. I don't think that would preclude him playing football because the odds that the moment would come when he is on the field is very small, say 15 minutes of clock time per game x 16 games = 4 hours out of a year = (4/24)/365 = 1 in 2,920. And if that happened he would probably just fall or get corralled. It would not be his main danger on the field since it would be so unlikely to happen on the field and no player is 100% aware of every defender on the field during normal times or 2919/2920 aware. But flying planes and driving cars might be out of the question. A lot worse will happen if you lose awareness once there in a multi ton machine at high velocity, and he would be doing those for a lot more than 4 hours a year. |
