Never said anything not nice.... just factual statements supported by my view.... If what the current saints football team is satisfactory to you,....enjoy. \
I expect they do more... afterall, the saints are a superbowl champion. :beatnik:

Mediocre just don't cut it anymore.

Okay, I'll bite. What coach is it that the Saints "let go"? Sean Payton? That wasn't their choice, it was his.

As for players, every team loses players these days. Quality players. It's just the way things work in the present day free agency era. You have to make the tough decision when pay them or not. Sometimes, as in the case of Andrus Peat, it was the lack of players at that position in the free agent pool. They simply felt the best move was to pay him.

And mediocre? We've had two years of unprecedented injuries to key personnel. That can make the best of rosters look mediocre. Before that we've had the greatest decade and a half run of success in franchise history.

On the kicker thing I would not worry too much about whether Blake Grupe can handle the pressure in the regular season. It might be more pressure from our fan perspective, but from his perspective even one missed kick in preseason could easily have led him to not making the team and never getting a chance in the NFL. A rookie kicker who has a bad game in a preseason audition has very little chance to ever recover. Now that he is the day 1 starter, I think he actually has more margin for error than he did in the preseason. If anything, I might worry more if he can handle less pressure and still stay focused when its not do or die every day.

Interesting point. I think along with this idea was the big kick he hit to win the pre-season game against the Chargers. That was in a stadium with fans, and You could tell by how excited the team was, and how they rallied around him that it was a big moment. That was the point I seriously thought that we could have him as our new kicker.

I agree. I'd venture to say that Grupe has a sizable chip on his shoulder given his smallish size and youthful appearance. I suspect he was questioned at every level about his ability just based upon that itself. I can see those factors developing a sharp edge.

proven my point....
Saints Organization failed to keep Payton interested and hungry... now we get to see his skills make the Bronco's a contender..

Quality players are lacking, and those that are quality have issues...ya know, the prima donna thing, and the thug thing.... and HAS Beens.... seems like the saints of old. (pre Payton)

Injuries.... meh, get QUALITY backup... MEN with the heart to play.

....thought you blocked me. :beatnik:

Speaking of Payton ...

Real reason to step away from coaching Saints

I think it was more about how Taylor fits DA's scheme. No team was willing to bite on the trade. Roby will most likely latch on to another squad after a injuries start mounting across the league.

IMO Isaac Yiadom was another factor for moving on from Roby.

We'll see.

Map, you just keep it up. That’s why we live here. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with having high expectations for the Saints. The name alone should say something. Something stronger. And better.

+1.

I "unblocked" you yesterday since I saw you actually posting real football related stuff again in other person's replies. Welcome back!

Maybe the only way you can find satisfaction is by changing teams. You already seem fickle enough with the Saints. It shouldn't be hard to find another team. You're always welcome to come back to Who Dat Nation when you discover you're wrong.

It must be sad to have so much pent up hatred. Feel sorry for you, my friend.
