All this talk about needing a replacement for Demario Davis. Let's wait until he actually shows any sign of decline. For all we know he's going to be balling out five years from now. He's a different animal.

I do love DeMario Davis. Especially since telling the story of his daughter to the media after the first game this season, taking the opportunity to share his faith. He's a solid person in every regard.

#9 masked a lot of deficiencies over the years. Too bad SP never focused on getting key components on defense & firing his buddies sooner (McMahon, Vitt, Bill Johnson) that weren't getting it done as assistant coaches :(.

Now fast forward to the present, Dennis is still hanging on to Pete C. as his OC.

And he always seemed to assume that Brees could make subpar skill players and late round picks All-World because the Saints got lucky with Colston, PT and Moore.

Because Moreau dropped the pass and Grupe missed the kick.

Because the offense still looks scattered and inconsistent even though they have been more productive the last 3 weeks or so.

Because the defense seemed to drop from their elite level play from early on. While turnovers have been great, they still struggle to get off the field on 3rd down.

Clearly there's room for improvement. The next 3 games could turn that frown upside down. 3 wins including a win over Detroit puts us in the running for the 2nd seed and the possibility of two home playoff games.

I find it funny that with 5 wins the Saints are within 1 game of all the NFC leaders except for Philly. But as usual, not a single mention of them as a NFC contender.

Everything you posted suggests that we struggle in the areas that require good coaching. The team is talented but poorly coached......

No doubt on that. But we're just going to have to ride the horse we came into town with. There is zero chance that Loomis and Ms. Benson will pull the plug midseason like Mark Davis just did with the Raiders.

That is correct. No franchise has been more dysfunctional in the past quarter of a century than the Raiders. I can't imagine why anyone in their right mind would aspire to mimic their organizational philosophies.

Hopefully not until he decides to retire in five years or so!
