6 games, or a third of his rookie salary, for a "first time" offense seems a bit over the top. They will appeal it I would surmise. Who knows, maybe they will overturn it. I remember a former Saint or two that successfully appealed it.

They usually don't even announce the suspension until after the appeal has already been heard.

Huge news like Payton opening up about why he left the Saints gets lost within the abyss of a multi page thread but this **** gets two?

Don't like to see this happen, but at least it was to Haener who isn't likely to see much playing time this year, rather than a rookie like Bresee or Foskey who we need to pitch in.

Does this even matter? Go hit some weights son and study the playbook. He was never seeing the field and a roster spot opens up.

Yup. Pretty meaningless and actually aids the Saints with roster space and cap savings for six games with a player that wasn't going to see the field at all this year.

More importantly, that spot is going to someone (likely a special teamer) who can help this team win games on Sundays in 2023.
