Re: Saints QB Jake Haener suspended six games for PED violation
Yup. Pretty meaningless and actually aids the Saints with roster space and cap savings for six games with a player that wasn't going to see the field at all this year.

The new collective bargaining agreement in 2020 reduced suspensions for first-time offenses from four games to two while also reducing suspensions for second offenses from 10 games to five. At the same time, the two sides also agreed to increase the penalties for anabolic agents or steroids – lengthening those suspensions from four to six games for a first offense and 10 games to 17 games for a second offense. |

Shorty was doing what he can/needs to do in order to stay on the NFL radar. I don’t fault him. It’s what separates him from Ian Book. He just got caught. He’s known now and it makes his headshots sell more.

"Welcome to the Party Pal!" Not the first nor will he be the last.
Saints DT David Onyemata suspended six games for violation of PED policy. Saints WR Kawaan Baker suspended six games for PED violation. Others of note got 4 games: Charles Grant, New Orleans Deuce McAllister, New Orleans Will Smith, New Orleans |

Since 2001, NFL players have been suspended for performance-enhancing drugs and related substances at least 258 times, including at least 82 times in the past five years, according to a newly published database compiled by USA TODAY Sports. The violations have affected every team in the league and every position on the field, including players who have been named to the Pro Bowl and even long snappers, quarterbacks and at least one placekicker. There were seven more in 2022 and five more to date in 2023. I swear it's getting to the point that these players can't walk through a CVS, or even a Kroger, without rubbing up against something that will trigger a positive test. There has to be a happy medium. Just because a substance is on a banned list doesn't mean it is at a high enough level in the body to actually "enhance performance." |
