Seems like there is a lot of conflicting information. There is no question the turf itself was changed out before the season like it normally is. The information I am finding is the type of surface is the exact same stuff that has been used in the dome since 2019 which is Turf Nation S5 / slit film.

Anyone who says they should face accountability or be second guessed gets to lead the league in penalties against for several years.

I think the refs want to completely eliminate instant replay. They dont care about getting the call right, in fact they pride themselves in their power to get it wrong. Thats why they killed replay of pass interference. In this case Carr clearly fumbled. It was clearly Titans ball. But the refs had ruled it an incomplete pass on the field and stopped the return. So they let the call stand on replay even though replay clearly showed the call was wrong. Now they can produce stats that show most calls are not reversed on replay, and try to exclude more critical plays from instant replay. All to lower our sensitivity to bad calls, so when playoff season comes they can get those big checks for helping out the large markets.

That small of sample size and at that small of a percentage is not statistically significant. According to that graph, you could say that artificial turf is on an increasingly downward injury trend while natural grass injuries are clearly on a rising trend. The graph predicts this year to have more injuries on grass than turf.

It's probably still slit film turf like last year, but probably this year the salesman upsold our front office on the deluxe platinum slit film at a 30% markup that comes with an extended warranty, multi-color sparkles, a collectable trading card featuring top MLB prospect Wander Franco, a certificate of authenticity from the Bradford exchange, exclusive presale access to NFT's featuring Khloe Kardashian and Logan Paul on the turf, and limited edition exclusive seasonal pumpkin spice scent.

Damn, your hatred runs deep. Is there anything to do with the Saints that actually brings even the smallest amount of pleasure into your life?

Sure we had some calls against us, I’m just saying it’s pretty clear that the most game-changing call in the game went our way and saved us 10 points most likely.

Also, video replay of PI was the dumbest rule ever implemented and done purely as a mea culpa by the NFL after what was the biggest dicking against a team by refs in the history of football. A completely unsustainable rule, they never intended for it to stick around permanently.

But anyways, refs weren’t the highlight of the game, our defense was. Great tackling, great ball hawking, excellent Redzone defense. A real joy to watch a defense like the one we have. The difference this year is we finally have a competent QB to take some of the pressure off our defense. We clearly miss Kamara’s explosiveness out of the backfield, but I am impressed with our skill players. OL needs to improve, but I also think it’s important to remember that Tennessee is one of the best defenses in the NFL year in and year out under Vrabel. Finally, great game by Grupe, hope he can keep it up.

I like when we make big plays. I like Grupe and Shaheed. I was happy we drafted oline in the 4th. I was happy to see Davenport go. Knowing we have a 1st round pick this year brings me joy.

As to the turf, take a joke man. As another poster said there is conflicting info that the turf is 'new' but 'the same' so its pretty logical to figure that it might be some kind of 'new and improved' bs now with Omega 3's, antioxidants, and techron. Its kind of the classic thing. Turf is like cigarettes. So if the turf salesmen want to keep pushing it they have to add filters and menthol and buy a doctor to say its healthy now. So of course every years model is going to be new and improved so the teams that don't do something about turf can keep claiming they are doing something about turf.

It really is a joke when grown-a$$ millionaires get to blame turf for ending their season, and giving other teams an advantage… Man, back in the day when I was playing, it was concrete and broken glass in a snowstorm… BAREFOOT! And we never complained.

Your right! Turf toe is obviously a moral failure. We need to fire our chaplain immediately and hire a better one who can teach your men like Turner and Penning to have the character to not land wrong on the surface the injury is literally named after but has nothing to do with.

As you mentioned 7 minutes ago in the post right before this one?

I think “turf toe” is right up there with “taunting” and maybe “wearing the wrong shoes” as some of the most serious dilemmas plaguing our sport, and turning monster athletes into bench cushions.

The Saints have two of the top ten yardage receivers in the NFL after one week.

Not bad.

I agree whole heartedly with this. Hedley is not your conventional punter, but he was extremely effective in his first NFL start. Read the article for some of the stats involved.

I am open to hearing about positive stats like Carr's air yards but I would argue this is a flawed stat. Anything that shows our offense was the equal of the Dolphins in week 1 should be questioned. The reality is we punted 5 times on drives of -2, 23, -8, 26, and 30 yards. The average of those drives is 14 yards before punting. Keep the same average and make those drive 8, 9, 35, 8, and 9 yards and we double our 3 and outs but it makes no difference really.

For both the Raiders and Dolphins when you look at their drives its counting kneeling at the end of a half as a 3 and out to make their percentage add up. So the numbers can't be totally trusted.

Points and yards are more trustworthy than lack of 3 and outs. A team could have a first down, run for no gain, garner a 5 yard penalty that automatically gives them another first down, get sacked twice for 20 yards, and throw a pick six, and then its time to celebrate a drive without a 3 and out. Then the other team kneels 3 times and punts with 5 seconds on the clock to seal the win, and they had a 3 and out. We had 12 possessions amounting to 5 punts with an average of 14 yards before punting, 2 turnovers (1 special teams) with an average of 22 yards gained before turnover, 3 field goals, one touchdown, and one run-out-the-clock and we scored 16 points. Thats an average to below average offensive performance if I ever heard one. Lucky our defense shined.
