The solution we should push for is AI based officiating. Technology is advancing rapidly. Sensors can be be placed in the balls and AI can consider 50 video angles in a second. The code could be open sourced. The only solution to make the refs stop hating us is to make there be no refs. This would also be much better for the game if what is considered holding, PI, etc is 100% consistent from game to game.
I get the chips in the ball approach for placement calls, but AI based visuals on PI type calls can get pretty "busy".

But I agree on using technology where feasible.

I watched a replay of the punch thrown by the Niners Olineman (Williams I think) in the game last night. Dude should have been tossed. No way this game is officiated on the level.

Re: NFL Ref’s Rule

Does anyone know the difference between refs today and refs 25-30 years ago?

Back then they had half a dozen cameras at best and no or limited replay.

Now we have 12-20 cameras at every game. The those video qualities are incredible and the replay abilities are instantaneous.

The refs have always been relatively incompetent based upon human capabilities to see and perceive, especially for men in their late 40's and 50's doing the job on a part time basis.

Also 25-30 years ago refs gambled on the games with their bookies and used the proceeds to snort angel dust off the ass cracks of male prostitutes. Today the refs gamble on the games on their burner phones and use the proceeds to snort fentanyl off the ass cracks of male prostitutes.

instantaneous
ĭn″stən-tā′nē-əs
adjective
Occurring or completed without perceptible delay.

Now tell everyone that the "instantaneous" reviews do not in any way delay the game.

It's the commentators in the booth and the fans watching on TV who actually see it instantaneously. Why can't the NFL have a "Replay Official" seeing what the commentators and TV viewers see ?

The NFL could institute the "SKY JUDGE" next week if they so desired.

The fact that they don't should have everyone asking "WHY?"

The NFL would lose "CONTROL" of the game, that's WHY.

The NFL panders to those "FANS" who watch for the "ENTERAINMENT" .

Fans like YOU

Now tell the Group you've never said that ENTERTAINMENT is what you so cherish!

Off the meds again, vp?
The point I was attempting to make that you so horribly missed was that refs have been missing calls since the game started and we only now have the abilities to see what has been magnified by new technologies.

And, yes, I am completely entertained by the product. I see no issue with that at all. And, yes, I am a fan. What's wrong with any of that?

P.S. What is "enterainment"? Maybe you need to break out that little dictionary of yours again.

Wrestling is entertainment.....so is football now. It's all basically scripted with a predetermined outcome.

Also, The refs are obviously worse now than they were in the past. You don't need dozens of camera angles to see blown calls and it happens in almost every game. The NFL doesn't want competent refs. If they did then the refs should be full time with proper referee coaching. The NFL is a joke!
