Re: NFL Ref’s Rule
The refs screwed Denver on a 2 point conversion with 0 on the clock to tie. The Washington defender came in early with a hand pulling at the shoulder of Denver's received that turned into a full tackle as/before the pass came in. It was not as egregious as the no call but it was pass interference I believe and should have been called.
I believe the refs hate New Orleans and Payton. I think Payton could have a chance in the long game here. If the refs screw Payton they are screwing Denver. If they screw Denver they are screwing the Walton Family. If Goodell lets the refs do that, Goodell is screwing the Walton Family. The Walton Family is rich on a level well beyond Tom or Gayle Benson, the Walton Family is the kind of rich that can give or take away other business deals in other industries that greatly affect the riches of other less rich owners. They can give other owners key introductions or recommendations that make the difference for those owners lesser businesses, or tell others not to deal with them. They can deposit or withdraw money in other owners hedge funds or banks, or put in a good word or not on the loans for their real estate ventures. They can swing a few votes in congress to affect legislation that other owners need for their other businesses. In other words if Goodell picks the refs over the Walton's, the Waltons may have the power to align enough owners to block renewal of Goodell's contract and have veto power over his replacement when his contract expires. They have the money to cash in enough favors to get those votes. Gayle and Tom just didn't. Edit: Just to add some detail, Rob Walton is the richest owner in the NFL by a factor about 3x. He is the former Chairman of Walmart. His son in law Greg Penner is the current Chairman of Walmart and the President of the Broncos. Walmart is the #1 private employer in many states. If the refs keep messing with these people, there will be congressional hearings. |

Re: NFL Ref’s Rule
Denver scored on a Hail Mary as the clock went to Zero.
2 point conversion to tie the game and go to OT. Denver reliever was clearly held in the end zone …no flag brings back bad memories. |

Re: NFL Ref’s Rule
After the game Payton looked about as bad as he did after the week 18 lost in 2021, his last game as head coach.
If Payton does not turn Denver around sooner than later, Coach P might flee the NFL at the end of the season … head back to Fox at $18 Million a year … or completely out tank all the other teams tanking for Caleb Williams. |
