Teams, especially this year, defenses are playing ahead of their offensive units and we have heard several coaches already stated they will look at having starters play more snaps next year. 12 plays for our offensive starters I think is clearly impacting its performance more so than usual in the early part of the season.

We have played against a couple of really good defenses and won, called it ugly, but we scored more points and in the end “W” is the only statistic that counts. I felt like the play calling was too predictable, less motion, run on first down. It allowed the Panthers D to tee off on Carr way to often. The Panthers had the script.

After all the criticism and hand wringing of the off season moves on the defensive front, the addition of Sheppard, Saunders, Breese with Jordan and Granderson certainly looks to have been the right moves by Allen and Saints scouting personnel.

Linebackers … Ggggreat that’s all that needs to be said.

Our CB’s are elite, just get Adebo to stop committing off ball penalties that cancel great defensive play, 2 weeks in a row now.

Safety play is solid.

Clean up the mistakes, keep improving, stay healthy and on to the next test …
Agreed. Allen as a defensive coordinator is truly elite. Pete Carmichael has to be replaced though. We’re so unimaginative and far too conservative. With our receivers we should be taking shots down the sideline anytime we get 1 on 1 coverage. It’ll open things up underneath and in the run game.

I believe that will be coming more when Carr can get enough time to make those plays.

I say bring back Gruden. Unless he's completely 86'd from the NFL I'd like to see what he could bring to New Orleans.

Agreed. Still a innovative mind.

Pete C isn't creative enough & is predictable.

How do we know if he's not helping out now from the behind the scenes ?

With the current lawsuit he has going against the NFL I would think that "behind the scenes" would be the only way he'd be allowed in the league.

Sean Payton's having his own offense issues in Denver right now. It doesn't matter how innovative and creative you might be if the offensive line isn't holding up their part of the bargain yet.
