Re: Saints @ Packers Game Day Thread
We are married to Carr for the long term. There is no moving on. To get under the cap for 2024 we have to restructure his contract this offseason. That would put the dead cap hit to move on in 2025 at $51 million. Then in 2025 we won't be able to afford that $51 million cap hit and we will need to restructure him again in the offseason before 2025 which will put the dead cap hit to move on in 2026 at something like $56 million. If Carr is marginally playable with the most optimistic possible spin and excuses we will restructure his $50 million 2026 base salary into a long term extension to remain a Saint through 2030 or so in order to spread out the cap hit. If Carr is completely unplayable and a job we will designate him a post-June 1 cut in 2026 offseason and split the dead cap hit at about $23 million per year in 2026 and 2027. If Carr is a Bandaid, he is a very expensive bandaid. Thats why I would have preferred bandaids like Mayfield, Love, Huntley, etc.

Re: Saints @ Packers Game Day Thread
I like Charmichael’s gameplan so far. Vilma has commented as well.

Re: Saints @ Packers Game Day Thread
Olave was his first read and he was open. There wasn’t a reason to progress to his second read. It’s unfortunate we didn’t score a TD there but it happens.
