I am sure our coaching staff can whip up their specialty: excuses.

Maye will still be suspended and Adebo could be out so hang their backups out to to dry one on one with evans or godwin and then blame a loss on Maye’s suspension etc.

The oline sucks so have carr hold the ball forever and blame the oline, especially any injury replacement where you can blame injuries, and say they are 1st round picks so its not your fault.

Kamara will have his first game back. Set him up to fail and blame rust and the suspension.

For all the rosies, this will allow them to write off the year and lobby for giving DA an extension.

I clicked “Like” not because what you wrote makes me happy, but because it rings true unfortunately… And no, I’m not reading this with poo-colored glasses on.

Yeah I’m definitely lowering my expectations until this team and the coaches show they are better than what we’ve seen the last 3 weeks.

And what are YOUR excuses going to be when we win? Or are you hoping we lose so you don't have to deal with it?

Dude… When we win, we CELEBRATE. When we set ourselves up for failure, we make no excuses. It sucks, and as fans, we deserve better.

Vast majority of the folks here agree with you man. If I could give you some advice though, I'd suggest blocking Guido. You'll still see a lot of his posts, because people quote him relentlessly, mostly when they're arguing with him..but it does help a little. You'll never be able to reason with him, and he'll always resort to name calling and questioning your fanhood for daring to have an opinion that differs from his own. You're more likely to have a meaningful conversation with a wall than with him.

Appreciate the tip. Unfortunately, I could literally copy and paste exactly what I communicated to him last year, word for word… and it would apply to exactly what we’re going through this season.

I seldom, if ever, resort to name calling. I do debate issues, especially when someone makes a false claim. I have called out someone's ignorance on occasion, but that is not calling someone a name. Ignorance is not a label, it is a description. I'll be the first to admit my ignorance on many subjects, including what goes on inside of NFL front offices and locker rooms. I feel that most of the active members here are very intelligent, but that doesn't mean at times that there are instances where we can show our ignorance on certain topics.

It's interesting that you bring up name calling because I am fairly confident that I have been (correctly defined) "called a name" a hundred, nay, a thousand fold over what someone may have erroneously interpreted as my doing the same.

Yes, by all means, please block me since all you ever post here are uninformed attacks on me anyway.

Now, enjoy your day as I plan to enjoy mine.

By win I am going to assume you mean have a successful season. If we have a successful season I will admit I was wrong about some things and apparently we could still contend.

Here is how I would define a successful season:

Actual successful season: We make the playoffs and either win 2+ playoff games or at least at a minimum for this year to show growth we win the first game by more than 10 and lose the second game by less than 10.

Gray area season: We have a winning record, perhaps get a wildcard or the title of a weak division, and maybe if we face a really weak opponent the ball bounces our way in a tight game in the first round of the playoffs and we slay the dragon that is green bay, seattle with drew lock filling in, nyg, etc. But even if all that goes right we get trounced in round 2 and its clear we are not real championship contenders.

Unsuccessful season: We have a losing record.

If we have a successful season by my standards I will admit I was wrong about multiple aspects of my evaluation of our team. If we have a gray area season you will probably feel we are one player away and need to go all in while I will feel we are an aging mediocre team and need to start fresh with a youth movement and changes at the top, agree to disagree. If we have a losing season I hope you will see that there is no sense retaining a head coach with 5 straight losing seasons in that role who can’t win with the most all-in f-the-cap approach in the league and his hand picked most expensive free agent qb. Obviously I want Loomis gone too if we have a losing season, but at a minimum he would need to fire this coach who you all said had us destined for 12-5 this year and last.
