Anyone with all 22?

Obviously the O-line is still a big issue but I wonder. Seeing Olave loafing in the 2nd half, perhaps our receivers aren't helping matters much. |

It still appears DC4 is holding on too long looking for the big play that isn't there.

Re: Anyone with all 22?
Rev Duce on Who Dat confessional showed some ugly film pointing out poor route schemes that don't attack the middle of the field now, even with a healthy MT roaming around the underneath middle.. Instead, the play call is to run three vertical go routes on third and five without a checkdown valve. If it's third and eight we run all routes short of the first down marker and hoping that we'll get good YAC.
The number of tight window throws on the sideline is mind boggling, especially with a QB coming off a shoulder injury. Throwing to the sideline every time shrinks the field opportunities. Why do we have multiple receivers running plays within reach of each other and condensing the coverage to one small area? We don't run screens with the RB or use motion to loosen up the defense. We run o the ball between the tackles on first down and throw deep on third when our line can't block that long.. Everyone has an opinion on how to fix the Saints except the Saints! Re: Anyone with all 22?
I just hope these coaches haven't lost the locker room.
Did you notice AK & Olave's body language? I mean, this was only midway (game was still within reach) of the 3rd quarter. Tampa Bay & Bowles's defense were diagnosing plays pre-snap. We have become too predictable. 4th & 1, DCarr is lined up as a FB? Wow. One (me) could argue that Pete has the most dynamic offense arsenal in YEARS at his disposal. Outside of Brees, I think this is the most collection of pure TALENT Pete has ever had to work with over the years. And we can't put up 14 points a game? Imagine what some of these other OCs could do with this current offensive roster. |

He would say all the right things when the cameras were rolling but when he got to the locker room it was a different story.

Re: Anyone with all 22?
Sometimes I wonder if Pete had a close friend from days past recently diagnosed with CTE and has become a born again flag football believer. He could be scheming to attack the sidelines and get the receiver out of bounds ASAP on every play to protect the receivers long term health. It would be noble, but it wont win a lot of games. Olave seems to run the 2 minute drill all game and probably leads all nfl receivers in speed to sidelines after catch. And we are avoiding the middle of the field and using TEs almost as ineligible oline.

Re: Anyone with all 22?
FYI, the Saints currently (after 4 weeks) rank last (#32) in using motions on dropbacks & pre snap motion.
Playaction on 1st down would be a nice change. Usual suspects (Chiefs, Niners, Dolphins) are top 3. And people wonder why we are kicking fgs instead of tds every single week. |

This play occurred in the 2nd half and was broken up by Winfield on a great play. Olave was giving it his all there. https://www.nfl.com/videos/antoine-w...aunch-to-olave |
