Especially against Belichick! No mean feat, no matter how bad his QB is!

If you assume we are playing better which has a lot to do with timing, you’ll want to leave them in. The line needs rep time and Kamara has been on the sidelines.

Bill Belichick's record without Brady on the roster is a combined 67-83. The last I checked that is NOTHING (sub .500) long term as HC over a ten year stretch.

The back to back games we "stunk it up" consisted of a game where we had a 17 point lead when losing our starting QB and the next game where our starting QB played with one day of limited practice.
The first 2 games where we were 2-0 and prohibitive Super Bowl favorites we won by a combined 4 points against 2 lousy teams that were both 7-10 last year and are a combined 2-7 this year.

Bill Belichick's career record without Brady is still a lot better than DA's overall or with Carr. Belichick discovered numerous stars other teams missed like Welker, Gronk, rehabilitating Moss when he looked done, converting Edelman from QB, etc. Belichick innovated a lot. He also avoided salary cap hell over the years by moving on from players before they passed their prime. He was a great coach along with Brady as a great QB. But coaches get old too and eventually their minds get less sharp and there is less time to start over. Eventually they want to go back to what worked in the past and rely on familiar faces who already know how to teach it. In all likelihood Belichick and Brady are both faded talents now. Brady just had a cheat code for 2020 in going to a team with tons of cap room and star players to put around him, and a coach in Bruce Arians who although not Belichick's equal was definitely a much better HC than Mac Jones turned out to be as QB. Arians was experienced, established in Tampa Bay, and did not have the pressure of turning himself into the next Bill Belichick just because he had an aging Tom Brady with initially low expectations. Mac Jones was a rookie in New England with the pressure of being the next Tom Brady alongside Belichick in a Pats uniform.

Most head coaches records come with a certain QB. So I don't think you can take much away from Belichick. Likewise just because Phil Jackson was able to win again with the Lakers and Jordan was not able to win again with the Wizards, I don't think you can say Michael Jordan was no good because of his mediocre record in Washington and the fact that all of his 6 championships came with Phil Jackson who proved he was the real winner by winning elsewhere. Bill Belichick is the Michael Jordan of head coaches, but this is the Wizards era of his talent.

Comparing Allen to Belichick would be like comparing Carr to Brady.
I am very happy with a shut out WIN on the road, against a bad team with an old and tired coach, but let’s not get carried away.
