I think we were all premature as fans, but especially the coaches, in determining whether Getsom could man the position and not be what he is now, a gadget player. He did after all break Steve Young's records at BYU. He just needed a little more time under center, IMHO. It's a shame now... we'll always be wondering how cool it is to see unfold before us the next and maybe the last Frank Gifford.

At some point they'll have to let "Pretty Boy" Haener run the show. Only injuries will let that happen, like what occurred in Frisco with Purdy.
Actually, he didn't break any of Youngs records. I've heard people claim that before, but it's very false. Steve Young isn't even close to any of the records at BYU. Taysom isn't in the top 10 in any of the passing lists there. Ty Detmer and Jim McMahon hold most all the records. Even Jets "bust" Zach Wilson finished ahead of Taysom in all of the passing categories.

Hill is in the top 10 in rushing yards for career and a single season, however. And he did finish in the top 10 in total offense ahead of Steve Young helped out with his rushing numbers

In the For what it's worth department, the Saints currently have BYU'S #1 Jamaal Williams and #6 Taysom Hill (the only QB) all time leading rushers on their roster. Way back in 1973 drafted their #10 career rusher, Pete Van Valkenburg.
