IT’S EARLY IN THE WEEK, AND I’M GONNA SAY IT… TAYSOM HILL.
There I said it. Let Taysom Hill run the ship for a good minute, and we’ll have some fire at a key position. That frees up AK to be AK, Shaheed to be speed, Olave to play harder, and (I guess) Jimmy Graham to keep resting? The man can throw, and if receivers are covered, the ground fireworks begin! Anyway, we need FIRE on the field… and it AINT coming from our Coaching staff.
What Taysom does is play old school smash mouth football. UTILIZE HIM, and watch it be contagious. I know Taysom will be smiling. So will the fans. WHODAT! |

He did after all break Steve Young's records at BYU. He just needed a little more time under center, IMHO. It's a shame now... we'll always be wondering how cool it is to see unfold before us the next and maybe the last Frank Gifford.
At some point they'll have to let "Pretty Boy" Haener run the show. Only injuries will let that happen, like what occurred in Frisco with Purdy. | |

Re: IT’S EARLY IN THE WEEK, AND I’M GONNA SAY IT… TAYSOM HILL.
Coaches today overthink everything. Running is boring, so you throw a pick six at the goal line, see BYU Saturday. Field goals are boring, coaches pass on the regularly for a chance at a touchdown, but it never comes. Sean Payton was smart to keep kicking them Sunday night. That leads me to the point that Taysom is not a normal QB. Weird throwing angle, arm not very strong, maybe not the best at reading defenses, but he does something that should be the deciding variable, HE WINS!!!! Coaches look deep for answers when sometimes the answer is in the shallow end. I agree with you both and have been saying it since Brees retired, Let Taysom be Taysom and start him at QB. What’s the worse that could happen? We go .500. Lol

Even Jets "bust" Zach Wilson finished ahead of Taysom in all of the passing categories.
Hill is in the top 10 in rushing yards for career and a single season, however. And he did finish in the top 10 in total offense ahead of Steve Young helped out with his rushing numbers BYU Records Taysom Hill's BYU Stats |

https://www.draftsharks.com/fantasy/...som-hill/10193 Fast forward to today, Winston clearly beat Haener for the number 2 job, but with that said if Winston continues to struggle in the number 2 roll, then a switch to Haener for the number 2 job needs to happen. Back to Hill, considering his age, in the near future I do see the possibility of him being a true number 2 QB and removed from most of the gadget duties. |

When you have a substitute teacher calling plays ...
Far too many games when in crunch, your play maker/game changer/spark isn't even in the game. And you wonder why you are sitting at 5-5 in late November. |

You are free to disagree, but our current coaching staff doesn’t know how to open a Swiss Army knife without cutting themselves. So it’s time to play some sandlot football. At least the fans will have fun.

Re: IT’S EARLY IN THE WEEK, AND I’M GONNA SAY IT… TAYSOM HILL.
I heard the reasoning behind using Taysom in his regular role less when Carr went down is because of two factors;
1) The plays designed for him were designed to be executed with Carr in the game, not Winston. There are only limited snaps in practice and it is doubtful all plays designed for Carr/Hill would have also be practiced with Winston/Hill. 2) When Carr went out and Winston came in as the new #1 then Hill became the immediate backup. I've heard the conventional wisdom would be to avoid injury to your last option at QB. If Carr was out this coming game Haener would certainly be activated and likely moved to backup opening Hill back up to his previous role having plays designed with Winston being practiced during the week. |
