Dallas does Dennis?
If the Saints stay on course and squeak out a division win, it looks increasingly likely that as NFC South champion they would host Dallas in the wildcard. Dallas now has a 2 game lead for the #1 wildcard / #5 seed and trails by 2 games for their division title. The Saints are now 2.5 games behind both Detroit and San Francisco for the #2/3 seed and the NFC South champion seems destined for the #4 seed. #4 seed will play #5 seed.
Recent games really cemented this as much as it can be at this time in the season. The NFC west was looking weak but now SF is hot again making the #3 seed unlikely. The Cowboys looked like they could be the #5 seed or possibly #6 or later but now they have a 3 game winning streak and Minnesota and Seattle both lost while Minnesota is increasingly dealing with injuries that make a big run unlikely. What do you think DA's game plan would be against Dallas? Shut down Zeke? Have Penning shadow Parsons all game? Surprise everyone by starting Winston and then pick on DaRon Bland relentlessly with Kirkwood and Bowden, maybe even splitting Williams and Miller out? Give Prescott a giant running lane every 3rd down and hope he trips and gets injured? Have Blake Grupe attempt five 50+ yard kicks and blame whatever happens on him if he misses one? Feature check down to Kamara/Prentice in 3rd and long and deep shots against Bland in short yardage? |

Re: Dallas does Dennis?
I think you meant Tony Pollard. Zeke plays for the Pats.
And Penning needs to remain where he is at … on the bench. Quinn has Parsons moving all over and is absolute monster off the edge. Dallas is a well coached, extremely well balanced team that can create turnovers (see Bland) on defense. Don’t see the Saints being able to keep up offensively. Dak, Lamb and Cook are playing at All Pro levels. Any Given Sunday however this is a bad matchup for the Saints. |

I know Zeke plays for the Pats. I don't know that our coaching staff knows that Zeke plays for the Pats.

Re: Dallas does Dennis?
Well the Eagles released former 1st rd DE Derek Barnett today.
Adding another pass rusher to the rotation wouldn’t hurt. Especially when you have an old, “rest day Wednesday” guy like Jimmy G watching on Sundays. That is a wasted roster spot. We”ll need more contributors in order to compete once post season begins. |
