Re: Was Loomis not Haslett responsible for starting an injured Brooks over Delhomme?
Leadership isn’t about being an ‘alpha’. Alphas command, leaders inspire. There are some similar qualities between the two but a Chet (Weird Science) is not going to inspire players. Your typical alpha commands within a singular dimension where as leadership characteristics require range and depth to inspire individual personalities.
The alpha has a lowest common denominator approach, the leader uses individual strengths and helps people overcome their individual weaknesses. Keep in mind that the ‘alpha’ personality is already on the field many times over. I might be inclined to argue that we have too many alphas and no leadership off the field because alphas only respond to leadership. |
