.426 SOS

Dennis Allen is the worst head coach in the NFL.

Best thing to do is lose the last 2 games, get a top 10 pick and pray Jayden Daniels is still there.

And fire Dennis Allen. He's been head coach 3 years too long.

Re: Saints have had the second easiest schedule this year

I wish he was the worst head coach in the NFL. Actually he is the most proven to be below average, but not the worst. It would actually be better to have a worse coach, because either way we have no chance, and the other way at least we would get a higher draft pick and a quicker replacement. I would say that Dennis Allen is more in the Barry Switzer category than the Urban Meyer category and if he was inheriting the prime Dallas Cowboys team and hoping to squeak out one more ring I would prefer Allen to Meyer. But Dennis Allen is a consistently just below average coach who could never win a ring without a team that was by a far and wide margin the best in the league. The Saints are perhaps a 9 win team with an excellent coach and average schedule, who lost 3 wins due to having DA as coach and gained 2 wins due to their easy schedule.

Headed for an 8-9 and more likely a 7-10 record

The Tom Brady MNF game debacle that cost us the division title last year.

The Green Bay 4th quarter debacle that derailed what should have been at a minimum 10-7 successful season.

Based on talent level of this team and SOS, he's the absolute worst head coach this season.

Re: Saints have had the second easiest schedule this year

Using the playoff generator, if the Saints win out, there isn't really any likely scenario they make the playoffs with a Tampa win over Carolina that gives the Bucs the division.

So at 9-8 and out of the playoffs, it's likely the 14th-16th pick at best. At 7-10 you're looking at about the 10th pick in the draft. Huge difference.

Saints must lose out and do whatever it takes to assure themselves of the Daniels pick. Move on from Carr after next season. Perfect to have Daniels take over in 2025.

Saints aren’t moving on from Carr. At least not in 2024, especially if the substitute teacher is still HC.

Jayden Daniels won’t be an option either. Not for the Saints organization.

They’ll draft some no name (see Penning & Turner) OL or DE with a questionable college medical history.

Switzer was something Allen will never be - an impressive head coach. The problem with Switzer is he was great at the college level and his approach didn't click in the NFL.

Allen is perhaps more akin to an extremely poor man's Jason Garrett, if the poor man was a big believer in chopping wood.

But you see how this thing is playing out. I don’t see any way we be TB or ATL which means we probably will and finish 9-8 and not make playoffs leaving us home in January and drafting midway through first round. Geez, can’t win for losing or in this case can’t lose for winning.
