The last time I remember the Saints getting "help"
1990
The Saints and Cowboys entered the last week of the 1990 season tied at 7-8 but the Cowboys had already beaten the Saints 17-13 so they had the tiebreaker if the teams finished the season tied. The 7-8 Saints hosted the 5-10 Rams while the 7-8 Cowboys traveled to play the 4-11 Falcons. The Saints had to finish ahead of the Cowboys for the Saints to make the playoffs that year and that was exactly what happened... |
