The last time I remember the Saints getting "help"

The Saints and Cowboys entered the last week of the 1990 season tied at 7-8 but the Cowboys had already beaten the Saints 17-13 so they had the tiebreaker if the teams finished the season tied.

The 7-8 Saints hosted the 5-10 Rams while the 7-8 Cowboys traveled to play the 4-11 Falcons.

The Saints had to finish ahead of the Cowboys for the Saints to make the playoffs that year and that was exactly what happened...

They don't need to, but it can happen. But, I can absolutely see Chicago beating Green Bay and Arizona just beat the Eagles on the road so I can also easily see them beating Seattle in Phoenix. That's all we need to get the wild card.

You might be right. I don't remember us ever being on the right side of a true playoff bubble. 1990 is a few years before I latched on and became a fan!
