These guys look and play OLD. Beating up on a terrible team changes nothing in my eyes.

LSU went 10-3 and just fired their ENTIRE defensive staff.
They have the desire and hunger to play for championships.

I just don’t see the vision from the Saints front office.

Dennis Allen is a big reason why we have failed …again.

Given the “soft” schedule & still missing the playoffs and being labeled as “safe” is just wild to me.
And just got a commitment from the #1 QB in the 2025 recruiting class.

I'm positive we'll see some changes, especially on offense. The front office can't be that blind, can they?

THAT is literally a multimillion dollar question.

Unfortunately, we can't afford to move on from all those players. I wish we could but the way the salary cap works, if you keep a player, you can refinance their salary over 5 years every year, but if they leave the roster everything you financed 4-5 years out comes due at once. Since we restructure every veteran every year, if we cut them we owe 2023 money restructured to 2024-2027, 2022 money restructured to 2024-2026, 2021 money restructured to to 2024-2025, and 2020 money restructured to 2024. If we keep them and restructure we only owe the money restructured to 2024 now and we can restructure their new 2024 money out to 2028. In the long run we owe a lot less if we could move, but because of the way ML has managed the cap we can't afford to move on and get that long term savings because short term we can't afford the early termination fee.

If we had the cap flexibility I agree with moving on from all the players you even mention as maybes except that I think Peat at $4 million for LT is a good value unless we are able to take a sure-fire not-raw Day 1 ready LT in the 1st round. It would be irresonsible to pursue an expensive LT in free agency and we have a tendency to pursue projects in the draft, so keeping Peat as an option at LT may be smart. He is not a guard though.

Precisely why I think we keep Popeys Sammich Peat as a decent back up. Hurst too. And Crab Legs (he just restructured).

We're still over the cap by about $90 million or so.

Agreed. Hard to see being able to get rid of Lattimore. Ram is the one that hurts.

We'll see if he can medically come back.
