Gruden (though IMO he's on the right side of it) is persona non grata in the NFL and the Saints are an NFL franchise. The views of Gruden by the NFL can only get worse. It'd be a colossal mistake to bring him or even Jay on board. Even if Gruden was Vince Lombardi and Don Shula rolled into one we can't hire him from a business standpoint.

Not a fan. If you're going to bring him in, just make him the Head Coach. Will take Pierce from the Raiders though.

I’m not opposed to Gruden, just think we can do better.

Guess we need to wait for something official but in one article I read it basically implied that Carmichael would remain OC and Gruden would be an assistant. ????

^^^ This right here.
Don't just make a "lazy" hire because he had a previous relationship with Carr from years back. There are some good, young offensive minds out there. Go find one. The "continuity" angle is played. Saints are sitting at home for a reason. |
