this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I'm probably in the minority, but I don't get the impression Caleb Williams will be a very special NFL QB....

Re: Official 2024 Saints Draft Discussion
I've seen his problem as not being able to stay healthy, much like Payton Turner. I thought he's been solid when playing regularly.

Re: Official 2024 Saints Draft Discussion
I don't know about being in the minority, but I heard someone recently on NFL Radio saying they didn't see him as anything more than an average QB. Can't remember who it was, but I do remember being surprised because I do know it was someone that I felt really knew his stuff.

His arm talent is exceptional but that "hero ball" mentality will lead to pick 6's (+ turnovers) in the NFL. As well all know, athleticsm alone won't be enough at this level. Not to mention he doesn't have a lot of experience playing under center. We shall see though. |

Re: Official 2024 Saints Draft Discussion
OL is a must have. DE is a close second. We have to address the trenches early and often. Although, if Bock Bowers is there at #14 then that's the direction I'm going to give Carr the perfect weapon for Kubiak's new system. Bowers and Johnson would give them a nice two tight end set, which they ran a lot in Frisco. Throw in Foster Moreau and that's a promising position group.

Re: Official 2024 Saints Draft Discussion
Just fun thinking here, but wouldn’t it be sweet if we packaged our 14 pick with lattimore to move down the the later part of the first round this year and that teams next years first. Would that be too lopsided for a team to even consider?

Re: Official 2024 Saints Draft Discussion
Oregon’s Brandon Dorlus is an intriguing option for day two selection.
A 6’ 3”- 290 lb versatile defensive lineman who lined up at several different spots at Oregon. A little on the shorter side, but he has a good blend of strength and athleticism. I was watching some of his highlights and he looks very quick and powerful. I like the versatility to be able to ply DE or slide inside |
