That would be nice. Hopefully some of the coaches that Kubiak brought onboard will help with the line development.

The Shanahan system has a lot of moving parts and looks a lot like choreography. Kubiak has older coaches and a nice mix of young well versed innovative coaches to blend together. I like the new look offense!

Re: Klint Kubiak could be the Saints new OC
"Kubiak may be able to improve the Saints' offensive scoring efficiency. In 2021, he called plays for the Minnesota Vikings offense, which finished ninth in red-zone touchdown percentage. After a year as the San Francisco 49ers' passing-game coordinator, Kubiak may be able to carry over some principles from the Niners' fourth-ranked passing offense that can help elevate Derek Carr's production."
The smartest move for the Saints this offseason wasn’t a player they added |

Re: Klint Kubiak could be the Saints new OC
My only real concern with bring in Kubiak is the transition and athleticism of the OL. The OL play last season was bad in the red zone. You could almost bet on a drive killing false start or hold inside the 20. If this helps cut down on the pre-snap and post-snap stupidity, then all signs point up.
With Peat likely gone then IDK if the line is athletic enough for a lot of stunts, pulls and reach blocks. Hurst isn't going to be able to do it. He is solid at the point of attack be he isn't getting to the second level. Ram's knee is a huge concern. If its degenerative like it's been reported, then there isn't any way he is going to hold up having to move all season. Maybe this system helps make Penning better but we still likely need a LG & RT IMO. It will be interesting if OL is high on the Saints Day one draft card? |
