RE: SAINTS TRADE THEIR DEFENSE
I blame the coach as well. I wanted him gone last year, and was disappointed that he wasn't fired.
Doesn't change the fact that AB sucks. You don't hear me say that too often, but then, I don't care to repeat myself over and over, either. Just think it's funny that other's opinions grate on you this bad. |

Like I said... broken record. We get the fact you despise our coaching staff. We all do. Who's ignoring that Haslett blows? No one. So what's really bothering you? Would you feel better if there were hundreds of threads with the title "Haslett sucks" to go along with the hundreds of threads that "AB sucks"?

First of all, let me say how original this is. Considering I wrote something similar about our Waste Management QB earlier. But, I have to admit, I have to agree with you to a certain extent. This coaching staff makes Bum Phillips & his staff look like legendary geniuses. HasBeen should have got the axe last year. But, he managed to stick around & screw up another Draft & season for our Saints. I can't believe this guy was a LB! By the way, what's the weakest part of our defense? It is hard to bear another season like this. But hey, maybe we can loose enough games to get Haslett fired & move high enough in the Draft to get Leinhart. Please don't forget, Aaron Brooks still SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Re: RE: Re: SAINTS TRADE THEIR DEFENSE
Like I said in another thread...
Our D plays good when Aaron Brooks plays good. When Brooks starts messing up, everything blows up. Lately i've been reading about how our D is ranked around the middle of the pack, thus implying that they are either (a) not to blame, or (b) not nearly as much to blame as Brooks. I'm not gonna touch that debate....but what I will say, is that the Defense ranking is probably misleading. When the defense allows a team to score 3 or 4 consecutive TDs, then all of a sudden starts playing Defense.............well, what good is that? Or in some cases, there is probably a natural letdown on the part of opposing offenses when the score gets out of hand (which it has in all 3 of our losses). Another thing is, on at least 2 or 3 occasions, we've given up turnovers to opponents which enabled them to go less than 30 yards (sometimes as little as 8 yards) for a TD, which on paper makes it look like a smaller number of yards sacrificed by the D. The point is......you can show me any Saint defense statistic, and I'll just yawn. This team has given up yards and points by the chunks, at inopportune times in our losses. I'm our wins, they have looked solid, even spectacular at times. If we had a situation similar to the Jets when their 3rd string QB started a few weeks ago (defense being stiff 80% of the time, while the offense sputtered like a diesel engine running on gasoline), then I might could pour more of the blame on our QB. However, that hasn't been the case. WE HAVE A GOOD DEFENSE! I know some might not believe that after the Packers shellacking..............but we have a very talented Defense. Why it chooses not to show up at certain times on certain days is baffling. |
