No. It's still a sport, but just the biggest grossing sport in the world. Yet, it is also entertainment. One of the reasons why the NFL continues to explode in popularity is indeed its ability to target new and different audiences. MLB could learn a few lessons from the NFL. You have to identify with the newer younger audiences. You have to bring in more female fans. I know there's already female fans, but it has still been marketed far more to the guys for decades which made sense when the man was the breadwinner. That is no longer the fact. |
