I once had an excellent career with an awesome benefits package. One of the benefits was 'unlimited paid sick leave'. Most of my colleagues recognized how blessed we were to have that safety net and used it sparingly. But then there were always those few co-workers who had the attitude that they would work that benefit like a $10 Hoe! These guys would 'sick out' for any malady (real or imagined) more than everyone else in our unit COMBINED. As a result, the rest of the Squad worked harder to make up for the slack of someone who was just collecting a check on Easy St., just because he could! I've been told that players in the NFL, are always playing with a certain degree of pain. Some are more frail than others I guess. Work ethic matters. So does availability. Some will bang out with a hang nail. Some will soldier through because they know the team needs them. By my math, 20 games played, out of a possible 67 over the last 4 years is sub .300 balling. Sorry availability for a WR in the NFL! If he's that frail, then perhaps he should try his hand in Drew's Pickleball League. To be clear, I have been a HUGE MT fan since his rookie year and still feel like he has some of the best hands in the league. But his singular lack of presence (with the exception of his Twitter feed) is a disservice to the team and a roster spot best used on a healthy WR that will help this team win! I wish him luck with whomever (Denver?) picks him up. He's just not a reliable asset for the Saints. Moving on... |

All in all a player or coach who is unwilling to address any problems is even worse to me than one who is unwilling to address their own. So while I think it makes sense to move on from Carr, DA, and Thomas, as soon as we are able, Thomas would be third on my list if not for Carr's guaranteed salary.

He recruited Carr, so not a very wise recruiter. Then he blame Carr for not making him look like Devante Adams, when he just ain’t on that level post injuries. If you like the theory that Michael Thomas is still elite and just faking injuries I have another theory. Terrell Davis was perfectly capable of having a 15 year career. He just used injury as an excuse because he was upset John Elway retired. Either that way Michael Thomas is just TD without rings. Both were great for a few years at the start of their career, both played with HoF QBs, both got injured and washed when those QBs were done. In the end the easiest explanation is that they just got hurt and washed, but sure maybe they were faking and exaggerating and it was all about missing Brees and Elway. |

Re: The Saints are parting ways with Michael Thomas
How many times have we been 'friend zoned' in the last 20 years? That player that gets paid then stops putting out but is willing to go to the show with us. Leaves and starts putting out for someone else...
