The Saints are parting ways with Michael Thomas

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I think MT has a screw loose. Hopefully he’ll tighten it back up somewhere else. Until then, I see nothing but headaches for his next team. I’m glad he is gone. If I was a social media whore like he ...

I hate the way his injury stalled his career. It really was a shame he got way too mouthy on twitter after his season was over.
He had a HOF type of rookie season and was clutch before his injury. We're talking about a future HOF candidate with Drew feeding him the ball. He is all the time bashing his team mates on the Saints and I don't like it. In fact, I lost respect for him when he attacked Drew in public over that kneeling crap and now he pulls this crap? Buh bye!

Sorry, Rugs. I missed out on all of this bashing his team mates. But, he did say Carr put him in a bad situation on the play he got hurt. I also don't remember any attack on Brees. I do remember him saying that Brees' didn't understand of the meaning of the protest, however. Nothing over the top at all. Here are the only two actual tweets. The first about Brees and the second in response to others responding to his first tweet. It actually seems Thomas was defending Brees in the first tweet that referred directly to Brees.

He don’t know no better.

We don’t care if you don’t agree and whoever else how about that.

To be honest, I think there's quite a bit of misremembering going on confusing Malcolm Jenkins' public responses with those two tweets by Thomas. Jenkins was actually somewhat strong at first.

It's over.

The social media rants outweigh the availability and production on Sundays.

Mike Tomlin stated it well .... "I want volunteers, not hostages".

Good luck to Mike with his next team.

Can't call Mike Thomas.

On the subject of Tomlin, I think he may be rethink "stepping away" as HC. He now has Russ (1 year) and J Fields in his hip pocket.

I think that depends on the Russ he's getting. He needs Wilson to be the younger version of himself like the play maker he was in Seattle. And not the Primadona that Payton tried to turn into a pocket passer. Could be why they traded for Fields. If Russ can't run and gun then Fields is right there.

Good thing for Pittsburg is that they still can play defense and run with Najee. If they need Russ to win games with pocket passing it won't end any better than it did in Denver.

MT is a shell of his former self. You could see it last season. Maybe he was just getting back up to game speed but he didn't have the violence at the line like in years past. Maybe he gets that back.
