We wish MT well, despite his fleecing the Saints the last few years. We thank him for his contribution when he was productive.

"Fleecing" implies something intentional. Not his fault. You can't blame any player for injuries that prevent them from playing. And there isn't a player in the league that would have done anything differently concerning the contract.

In eight years his total earnings according to Spotrac was $72,520,383. That's less than $10 million per year. Total salary was $7,991,085. He only received $138,469 in incentives his entire career because of those injuries.

Disappointed? Yes. Fleeced? No.

People look back at that five year $96.25 million contract extension from back in July of 2019 thinking that it seemed so huge. He never received anywhere near that in his entire career with the Saints.

Good-bye Mike. Thanks for the good stuff.

Guido, he's not your friend and never will be. His behavior over the last four years rubbed most of us the wrong way. Glad he was effective for the first part of his career but hated him taking to social media to punk out New Orleans favorite son.

Did I ever claim he was my friend? I'm just not as petty as most around here and respect him far, far more than those same "most". His supposed "behavior over the last four years" has mainly been generated by the social media public. It all started by idiots being pissed off because he was injured soon after the new contract. The guy barely shared anything publicly for the first two or three years after that. Here in the last year or so he's become far more visible and for that I don't blame him. The uncalled for **** he's caught has been ridiculous.

He questioned Brees that one time and soon after got together with Brees and all was cool. Hating on him for that one isolated incident is a you problem.

Shame. Unfortunate injuries marred an otherwise stellar career.

Then all the reports and social media / social justice left many soured on the relationship.

For me, glad it seems to finally be over.

I think MT has a screw loose. Hopefully he’ll tighten it back up somewhere else. Until then, I see nothing but headaches for his next team. I’m glad he is gone. If I was a social media whore like he is, I would at the very least, work on my grammar.

I hate the way his injury stalled his career. It really was a shame he got way too mouthy on twitter after his season was over.
He had a HOF type of rookie season and was clutch before his injury. We're talking about a future HOF candidate with Drew feeding him the ball. He is all the time bashing his team mates on the Saints and I don't like it. In fact, I lost respect for him when he attacked Drew in public over that kneeling crap and now he pulls this crap? Buh bye!

Sorry, Rugs. I missed out on all of this bashing his team mates. But, he did say Carr put him in a bad situation on the play he got hurt. I also don't remember any attack on Brees. I do remember him saying that Brees' didn't understand of the meaning of the protest, however. Nothing over the top at all. Here are the only two actual tweets. The first about Brees and the second in response to others responding to his first tweet. It actually seems Thomas was defending Brees in the first tweet that referred directly to Brees.

He don’t know no better.

We don’t care if you don’t agree and whoever else how about that.

To be honest, I think there's quite a bit of misremembering going on confusing Malcolm Jenkins' public responses with those two tweets by Thomas. Jenkins was actually somewhat strong at first.

It's over.

The social media rants outweigh the availability and production on Sundays.

Mike Tomlin stated it well .... "I want volunteers, not hostages".

Good luck to Mike with his next team.
