Any Hope For the 2005 Saints, Will Haslett Survive?
Is there any hope for the 2005 Saints; will Jim Haslett survive?
CBSsportsline.com Pete Prisco The feeling around the league is that the Saints are done, that what they've been through is too much for this team. The loss of running back Deuce McAllister for the season sure doesn't help, either. But while the Saints are fighting a tough mental battle, if they beat the Falcons on Sunday at the Alamodome, they're right in the thick of the division race. They have two games left against Tampa Bay, two against Atlanta and one against Carolina. Their fate is in their own hands. But it won't be easy. The Saints were terrible last week in Green Bay and Aaron Brooks was even worse. At some point, he has to play better. The Saints aren't dead yet, though. As for Haslett, he won't get fired. There are too many extenuating circumstances for that to be a reality. Winning with what this team has faced would be a challenge to any coach. He's handled it all with class, never using it as an excuse. The players respect him for that. The owner likes him. He gets a pass if he wants it. Clark Judge No and yes. The Saints don't have a chance because of the upheaval that disrupted their practices, their games and their lives. Haslett insisted he would try to keep players focused, but how do you do that when you're not living at home and you work in an unfamiliar environment? Most teams can count on homefield advantages, but how can you have an advantage when you don't have a home? San Antonio? Baton Rouge? The Meadowlands? Where, exactly, is home? I'll tell you: Fourth place in the NFC South. That's where the Saints will settle, and the circumstances that forced the club to leave New Orleans will buy Haslett time. Normally, he would be a candidate to be fired, but there is nothing normal about what happened to him and his team. Haslett will be given a pass, and he should be. http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/8956752 8) |

oh frigan load of crap. biggest load of crap i have heard. as if somehow the hurricane has turned into them playing the same way they have played all ecept one year under has. and if he isn't fired you can count me out as a fan. he sucks as a head coach. i do not dislike has. i think he works very hard to get this team ready. they still suck and he is responsible. so are the players but he is also. they suck shiiiiit and they have under him all but one year. all the bs excuses in the world are just that. this is the same thing we have seen every year from this team. has nothing top do with the hurricane. that would probably be something you could say if we were normally winning. we haven't been. this team sucks french coccck and that shiiiit stinks. i have no pitty for any of them. you win or you lose. plain and simple and he has been losing for some years now. they suck

When is someone going to step up and have some BIG ONES for once. Hazlett knows he's not the coach, AB surely knows he ain't the QB, Carney knows he can only kick his own assss, Stallworth, Hakim, Conwell know they can't catch shiiiit, Craft knows he can only cover his head with his assss hat (that means head up your bum), the O-Line knows the only thing they can block is another brother from getting a little. When is one of these guys going to stand up and say I can't do it and I'm not going to fake it anymore. I know their wives are probably saying that to themselves, but they don't have any BIG ONES either.

..you have to understand.. those days that the Saints spent trapped in the convention center without food or water, and now living in refugee camps, not to mention all of them are from New Orleans and all of them are worried about family members they have not been able to see in weeks... and therir home destroyed.. how arae they going to come up with the money to rebuild their lives???
.. now they have to fly for hours from San Antonio all the way to Baton Rouge and back!!! just to play a home game... .. the tragedy.. |
