It's the Dennis Allen effect, certainly. Many fans think that it doesn't matter who the Saints pick, Allen aint the guy to get this team to the Superbowl. I'm no fan of DA but I am eager to see what happens over the next few days. :bng:

I had a dream/nightmare last night we drafted some 7'1" basketball convert and used him at HB/FB. We ran a sweep near the goalline and he hurt himself leaning over to get the low pitch.

That pretty much sums up my skepticism about Loomis and DA and my lack of certainty about what Kubiak will really do.

The loss of yet another lineman (Hurst) decimates what we have left to play this season. With the loss of yet another OL, short of a miraculous draft and
picking up help in free agency, are we even able to field a team capable of being competitive?

I hate it, but without a gut and rebuild from the ground up what chances do we have this year?

I believe the Saints chances aren't as bad as you surmise. There's a lot of talent on this team and I have a lot more confidence in Kubiak than I had in Carmichael.
Regardless, I'm looking forward to some good draft picks and hopefully some good players in free agency.
