Probably

Let the Lattimore post June trade talks begin

No

Re: New Orleans Saints Draft - 2024

My wish list:

Jonah Elliss , DE, Utah
Sataoa Laura, OG, Utah
Mehki Wingo, DT, LSU

There’s some really good center prospects to be had but we’re good there.

Can we sign this dude as an UDFA?

Honestly pretty impressed so far. No teaches and no surprise picks. With 5 picks remaining it’s going to be hard for ML to stay off that trade button. I hope we keep all though and get some depth

Based on the past precedence of 'over-reaching' looking for lightning in a bottle, I'm pleasantly surprised at the conventional wisdom driving this draft so far. :bng:

Christian Mahogany OL
Mekhi Wingo DL
Mohamed Kamara DE

That's my day 3.

Re: New Orleans Saints Draft - 2024

Javon Foster, OT, Mizzou
6’6 313 lb

Pre-Draft Analysis
Foster started 39 games over the past three seasons, primarily at left tackle, though he started two at right tackle in 2020. He is an aggressive run-blocker with explosive power and gets good initial push in the run game. He has the size to cover up second-level defenders. Foster has excellent length and a powerful punch in pass protection. He is strong enough to hold his ground. -- Steve Muench

Let’s run the football.

This is a deep draft. We could really turn things around quickly.

Let’s run the football.

According to a recent interview, Kubiak is on record saying that our Red Zone woes will be addressed by actually running the ball there... which seems like the opposite of PC's playcalling. I like it.

Aside from looking for more OL help I'm expecting a WR and Safety to be taken somewhere in this draft. That is the Saints modus operandi.

Troy Fautanu, OG
Zach Frazier, C
Roman Wilson, WR
Payton Wilson, LB
Mason McCormick, OG

Steelers are having a great draft and an excellent offseason as a whole. They’ll be contending this year.

Re: New Orleans Saints Draft - 2024

OT Nathan Thomas
LOUISIANA-LAFAYETTE

OG SATAOA LAUMEA
UTAH

Both sound like players that could develop into furture starters from what i have read on them

Re: New Orleans Saints Draft - 2024

It's refreshing to see the Saints use a measured approach to the draft rather than throwing everything at a developmental player. This cautious approach seems to be working so far and we are making what look like the right moves to get under the cap. The free agent signings were not something to write home about but the draft is making up for that. Let's see how the rest of the draft plays out.

Not bothered by a pick like this in the 5th. Its pretty much a crap shoot at this point. Everyone needs developed or has flaws. Why not take a shot on a QB, if it works great, if it doesn't you might have a cheap back up or someone easily cut

Dak Prescott was drafted in a similar spot.

I like the value and upside of Rattler. The redundancy of having both Rattler and Haener is kind of goofy though.

Can he play OL or TE?

Re: New Orleans Saints Draft - 2024

LetHaener and Rattler battle for 2/3 spots. If they look OK, at least good enough to bridge the team you let Carr and his contract go and start opening up the cap again. You can clear 32ml off the cap with a post June cut. I think he does enough to be kept round and moved on in 2026 though and the June 1st cuts used elsewhere

Not sure how I feel about this, but as others have pointed out, it's kind of a crap shoot at this point. Not much difference between these guys and the ones who will sign as undrafted free agents.

There are only a few teams with 4 QBs on roster and I know the draft isn’t over but as it stands right now, we are the only team with 5. How the heck do all these guys get reps?

Maybe... but I think we're stuck with Carr for one more year. Cap implications clear up after that. Would love to see a Haener outing of some sorts. We need to see if he can do it.

They don't... Kubiak prolly already has an idea. At least I hope so.

Saints now have 3 Senior Bowl MVPs in the QB room: Rattler 2024, Haener 2023 and Mond 2021.

Championship?!

QB's have been a crap shoot since time out of memory. I do remember that not so long ago, this guy was being talked going in Round 1 or 2. I think a Round 5 flyer on a possible QB (if Haefner doesn't look like he's developing) is a good use of a late round pick.

I hope we finish this round with a lineman on either side of the ball. Not too happy about this round if we didn’t.
