Need to know something
I looked at the Saints Survey and noticed that almost half of the people picked Haz as the "Blame Taker", and the other half picked "Blame Katrina".
I just really want to know if I am being harsh, but in no way can I see placing the blame on Katrina. The last time I checked the players have their families with them, and are not staying a a strangers house. As most of you guys know I am from Mississippi and have family in Louisiana. Some that I still have not heard where they are. Some of you also know I'm in Iraq. I, like thousands of other troops here from LA and MS, we had to watch our homes get destroyed and wonder if our families were okay. However, we still had a job to here and if you slip just a bit....it's your azz. I maybe wrong in my thinking but, they play a game. Point blank, it's a game. If they play like crap, I just don't see saying, "Well, you know that hurrakin sho did kill dem Saints this year." NO, the fact that the entire coaching staff sucks and the players don't have the heart to stand up and say, "GOSH DANGIT, I AM TIRED OF LOSING!!!! I AM TIRED OF BEING THE LAUGHING STOCK OF PROFESSIONAL SPORTS!!!!! IF YOUR NOT TIRED OF IT PACK YOUR CRAP AND HIT THE ROAD!!!!!!". I love this team too much to place the blame somewhere it does not belong, the team it self. Let me know, as I am sure ya'll will. Peace Out! |

RE: Need to know something
I can honestly say that I think the hurricane's effects have cost the Saints, but only in small ways. Have you ever stayed away from your home for an extended period? It doesn't take long for you to start wishing to be back even if you might have more luxury where you're staying. I can see that being a disruptive thing.
However, I think it's a small disruption that should only be costing the team in close games. In the 3 losses so far the team has looked absolutely awful. Not just bad. Not just unlucky. They have looked worse than at just about any time I have ever seen them. Heck, in their win against Buffalo, they didn't look good either, but played an equally bad team. The Carolina game was the only decent game they've played this year. So, since we can't really blame the hurricane for the losses what should we look at? I think we should look at what has happened during the tenure of this coach. That is, 1 playoff appearance and 4 consecutive non-playoff seasons. Under Haslet we've had a team that lacked heart, didn't play with consistency, made dumb mistakes and were just generally unlucky. So far this season we've gotten the exact same thing. Haslet deserves no pass because of this year's situation. The likelihood is we'd be at the very same position, hurricane or not, this season. I don't say this lightly, but Haslet must go. |

Fire Haslet and Staff.
Cut Brooks. Cut Carney. Cut Hodge. Cut Gandy. Cut the next SOB that illegally blocks on ST. Cut Horn. Cut Bellamy. Trade Howard. Fire Mueller. Fire Bean Counter. Move to S.A. Win SB. Cut Joe Horn? I understand the rest, but Joe Horn is the best receiver to ever wear a Saints uniform. I can't see cutting a guy that comes to play every Sunday even though he knows his QB sucks ass. Naw, keep Horn. If you want a receiver to cut, start with Az Hakim. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) |

..anyway, I do agree with the rest ..

I think the question is worded wrong. It should rad who should get the blame instead of who will.

RE: Re: RE: Need to know something
That'spretty much why I used the word disruption rather than distraction. There's no question that there has been a disruption, but they shouldn't let it distract them, just as you should not, Sapper. I don't think there's any room for these guys, who aren't suffering at all staying in luxury hotel rooms and all, to be distracted since there's nothing to be done in N.O. but rebuild and few of them are going to do much in that regtard. Just clarifying. ANd yes, I'm a bit cynical right now.
My daughter just turned 1 and I couldn't imagine being away from her as long as you have been away from yours. I'm assuming your serving in the military overseas. Thanks for that. It's more of a sacrifice than most of us realize. |
