$11.5 million is pocket change for any NFL team. How about a little responsible reporting, LSED? Louisiana government idiocy. Why can't they do their jobs which include required reporting?

FYI about LSED. Louisiana Stadium & Exposition District is a political subdivision created under Louisiana law. The board's primary purpose is to plan, finance, construct, develop, maintain and operate facilities located within the District for events of public interest.

As they should have. When you have leverage to get things done, use it, especially if the other party is tardy. It's really the LSED and the State at the end of the day with the black eye, not surprisingly. With SB 2025 in the balance and clearly in front, pressure is on to have the renovations completed in time.

On a side note, the amounts and budget increases for the renovations seem excessive for an already built structure.

Has Trump ever missed a payment? All this fuss about nothing. Trump is the king of debt and he's running for the Presidency. Let's not make too much out of nothing. I've been late on bills before. Although, it wasn't millions of dollars.

If anyone hasn't been in the Dome in the past couple of years you'd be shocked at how dramatic the renovations have been to date. Night and day different. You wouldn't even recognize the place. And this doesn't include the things that you and I can't see.

much easier to pay a mediocre team of NFL athletes and "has beens", as opposed to paying a team of elite NFL athletes.... and still sell out a stadium for fans to eyewitness firsthand, mediocracy. :beatnik:

When the self proclaimed "king of debt" misses a payment it's not news. Why is this news? That was my point. And as your nemesis Guido mentioned they are paying their bills but they are withholding payment for a good reason. They are demanding an explanation for why the cost of renovating the Dome is so very far over budget! Pick a better fight than that!

The team should be paying for everything and should own its own stadium or rent from local government. No public money should ever go to a sports team, at least while there is any poverty,public works etc that needs sorting

Funny how all Sport teams owners would be very much opposed to any type of handouts until it adds to their own wealth or value of their sports teams.

I counted 20 dates booked on the Domes schedule for the REMAINING 2024 CALENDAR YEAR, 11 not associated with the Saints. So after the Saints pay their annual lease payment, pay for the Dome upgrades I’m sure the City/State will share all the revenue generated with the Saints … Yeah that’s the ticket.

The city of Indianapolis and people who live in surrounding counties (I live in one of those) are still paying a for Lucas Oil Stadium, which has been in operation for the last 13 years.

The massive stadium cost roughly $720 million to build, which is around $850 million in 2019 dollars, and in order to pay for it the city had to impose a few taxes, which includes a one-percent tax on several of the donut counties that surround Marion County. Within Marion County, a food and beverage tax along with cigarette and extra income taxes go toward paying for the stadium. The building will be 30-years-old by the time it’s supposed to be paid off in 2037.

This is so Robert Irsay can pay 2.5 million dollars for one of Ringo's drum kits!

Yup. Not to mention, I've seen where a single Super Bowl can bring in anywhere between $300 million and $1.3 billion in local revenue for the host city and surrounding areas. Given the fact that Super Bowls can only be held at NFL host cities, New Orleans and the State of Louisiana would be standing to lose that amount once every six or seven years on average if they were to ever lose the Saints. Let's not forget just regular game revenue year to year.

The Superdome is a cash cow for the city and state and they know it.
