Re: Official 2024 Training Camp Discussion

Will Pretty Boy Haener show us what he can do?

The Bayou Rattler will also make the team.

If somehow Carr is injured, I believe we'll be in good hands, maybe eve better hands, with Haener and Rattler.

Honestly, I don't think either Haener or Rattler can hold Carr's jock at this point of their careers. Hopefully both make the roster with the #3 label landing on the practice squad. If they do then we may have our future backup in house.

As for Carr getting injured, he's only missed two games in his career due to injury. That's two out of 161 total games. He one of the most durable QB's in the NFL today. There's no reason to suspect the likelihood of his missing games anymore so than any other QB in the league. Far less likely, in fact.

Why? Due to injury? Or just the typical Carr is Carr and Carr is trash?

Unless Rattler beats out Haener I just don't see anyway that the #3 will make it to the practice squad. Rattler has too much hype for someone with that much talent to slip through the cracks again.

Carr is tough but he's not super human like Cam Jordan who can play every game year after year. He could get injured. Especially behind what is a largely unknown and somewhat suspect O line. Rattler throws well on the run even though he's not a dual threat QB and Haener looks more like a finished product this year who is ready to step in at backup QB.

A team can protect up to four players every week that cannot be sniped from the practice squad, Rugs. There's zero chance of losing those designated players. That's why most teams have a QB on the practice squad, as well as two or three other valuable players not quite ready for prime time.

As for Carr, he's played virtually every game his whole career so far. Odds say he's likely to play them all again.

They have to make it to the practice squad though.

I agree except wouldn't go so hard as "couldn't hold his jock". My view is they are not at his level. Not even a year close. Both seem to have great potential.
